Rancho De La Osa is a 300 year old intimate property located 65 miles from Tucson and is one of the last great haciendas in America.  Established as a guest ranch in 1923, Rancho De La Osa’s history has been lovingly preserved in the beautiful buildings that rest comfortably in the rolling grasslands of the high Sonoran Desert.

Meal times are focused around quality food and wine, and daytime activities include horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, nature walks, and bird watching.  Rancho De La Osa’s themed weekends include cowboy cookouts, half and full day hikes, wine tasting dinners, cooking lessons, cattle round ups, dudeos and informal western dance instruction.  And, to compliment your experience, the outdoor heated swimming pool, hot tub, peace garden and massage service provide a holistic approach to your restoration and relaxation.

The hacienda, built between the 1830's and 1860's, today houses two dining rooms and four salons, with fireplaces for warmth and guest relaxation. The adobe walls of the hacienda are more than two feet thick, providing natural cooling protection from the summer heat and warmth from the late night winter chill.

Known as the "Old Adobe", the cantina is reputed to be the oldest building in the state of Arizona – it has been occupied since the early 1700's and was built as a mission outpost, in what was then New Spain, to provide traveling Jesuit priests with supplies.  Used as a gathering place since the 1920's, the cantina has a huge fireplace which was once open on both sides - one side for a blacksmith shop, the other as a gathering place for guests.  Today the cantina is used for guest socializing.

The territorial-style guest quarters, made from ancient clays of the ranch, are wonderfully serene, simply elegant and perfectly weathered.  The 21 adobe guest rooms are uniquely and vibrantly furnished with Mexican antiques.  All rooms are ground level with separate entrances and private bathrooms. Each has a porch that opens to mountain views and most rooms have a wood burning fireplace.  All rooms are in close proximity to the pool, hot tub, corrals and dining areas.

As well as being a unique holiday destination for those interested in horseback riding, hiking, nature, history and the great outdoors, Rancho De La Osa is also a perfect venue for family reunions, birthday celebrations, seminars, retreats, business conferences, team building getaways, weddings and themed workshop weekends.   Because of its size and location, Rancho De La Osa can provide you with an intimate and secluded setting for your special event and can offer the ranch for exclusive use for these occasions.  Furthermore, Rancho De La Osa will work with you to produce a tailor-made itinerary to fit your requirements to ensure that your special occasion is an event to remember.

With more than 300 days of sunshine a year and night-time stars that shine with unmatched clarity within a coal black sky, Rancho De La Osa is a special place that rejuvenates the spirit and invigorates the soul and is suitable for individuals, couples, families and groups.
