Kay El Bar Ranch
Wickenburg, Arizona
Comfortable and friendly, the Kay El Bar Ranch is an authentic western dude ranch
in the foothills of Arizona's Bradshaw Mountains. An hour from Phoenix and
four hours south of the Grand Canyon, our dude ranch has welcomed guests since
1926. The informal, relaxed atmosphere and small size (maximum capacity 24)
create a warm, intimate environment where guests are quickly part of the family.
The Kay El Bar Ranch, on the National Register of Historic Places, surrounds guests with thick-walled adobe dwellings where each room is a cowboy postcard of charm, character and comfort. Accommodations include eight rooms in the historic main lodge, a two-bedroom, two-bath cottage with living room and fireplace and two casitas, one with sitting area and fireplace.
Extraordinary horseback rides in the mid-Sonoran desert are geared to all skill levels. Our wranglers will guide you through thousands of acres of desert landscaped with towering saguaro cactus and desert flora where the terrain varies from sandy washes to mountain foothills and towering canyons. Our well-trained horses are suitable for all riding levels, and instruction is an integral part of the horse program. Ride choices include half-day and all-day rides, a Sunday brunch ride, and cattle sorting ($20 charge). We also offer informal Dudeo competitions throughout the season.
Back at the ranch there's a heated swimming pool, hot tub, outdoor games, hiking
trails, or hammocks. Expect the best of home cooking, whether it's a candlelit
dinner in the dining room or a cookout under starlit skies. Joe & Teri Beattie, ranch owners and managers, would love to welcome you to Wickenburg's
Kay El Bar Ranch. Our season runs from mid-October to May.
